I am delighted to have this opportunity to welcome you to Castle Donington Community College.
Secondary school is an important time in a child’s life and you want to make sure that you are making the right choice of school. I hope this website will provide an insight into our school and conveys some of the ethos and spirit of Castle Donington Community College.
We are concerned first and foremost with people. The staff and governors are committed to providing the best possible education for all our pupils. We care passionately about the quality and nature of the education we provide. Although our facilities and approach are modern, traditional attitudes and values are considered important. We aim to provide individual, caring attention for each child and to create a stimulating environment so that effective teaching and learning can take place. Castle Donington Community College has high expectations of its maturing 10-14 year olds both academically and socially.
We want your child’s time at Castle Donington to be happy, meaningful and successful. Our pastoral system is based on the belief that pupils achieve their best when they feel safe, secure and confident, and where help and support are readily available.
Castle Donington Community College is justly proud of its reputation for high quality teaching and learning, and for its orderly, well behaved, articulate pupils. We rely heavily on the partnership between home and College. Throughout your time as a Castle Donington parent you are always welcome to contact us, to get involved and to be an active partner in your child’s education.
The benefits associated with being a Community College far exceed those of simply being a school. At Castle Donington we enjoy the advantages of providing lifelong education to a much wider community audience through our programmes of Adult Education, Youth Work, Under 5’s Education, Community Development and Leisure. Thus our resources, expertise, enthusiasm and collective knowledge are admirably brought to bear on the important business of teaching and learning.
If you would like to know more about the College, or to see us at work, please telephone for an appointment.
We look forward to sharing our success with your child.

Year 8 and Year 9 experienced a wide range of activities in our Annual Industry Day. Our thanks go to Slack & Parr, RAF, Stephensons College, East Midlands College of Health & Beauty and Connexions for workshops throughout the day. The pupils have had trips to experience different aspects of work including East Midlands Airport, Yew Lodge Hotel, Kegworth, Dovecote Veterinary Practice, FC Cartons, Art Forma, Castle Donington and also East Midlands College of Health & Beauty in Derby. The feedback from both our contributors and our pupils was excellent, confirming this as a worthwhile and constructive signposting activity. If you would like to participate in our growing event, please contact the college via our email address, postroom@castledonington.leics.sch.uk
