Music Department News
It has been a very busy time in the Music Department this term! The last few weeks of the Christmas season has been full of outstanding performances by our pupils.
Our first Christmas event was the “Celebration of Christmas Cheer” in Castle Donington Square on Friday 6th December where our orchestra and our local primaries played and sung carols for the local crowds. Everyone wrapped up warm and it was a joyous, successful event.
Our next big event was the College’s “Christmas Concert” on Thursday 12th December where we had 80 of our pupils performing! Performances included the orchestra, choir, rock bands, many duos, trios and solo pieces. It was a great event to get everyone celebrating the pupils hard work and achievements. Tickets were sold out and together with a Christmas raffle, mince pies and refreshments, all money raised this Christmas will go back into the Music Department to buy new equipment for our pupils.
Our last event was our Carol Service on Wednesday 18th December. Lower School’s service took place at St. Edwards Church and the Upper School at the Methodist Church. This was open to parents and the wider community and involved Carols, readings, Nativity Story and Musicians. This was a lovely service to finish our school term and get us all excited for Christmas.
Finally, the Music Department wish to thank all parents and the community for all their wonderful support this term. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
